What makes tissue paper bleed

This is great, its always good to find things that are quick to set up and simple for my 2 year old. Thank you! They placed the tissue paper on the paper and sprayed gently with a bottle filled with water. Our results were a little lighter than I had hoped, but still beautiful. I like the idea of painting the water on the tissue paper and will need to try this format, as well.

Thanks for sharing and beautiful pictures as ever. Could you please let me know the paint you use in this article? Is it edible homemade paint? How long will it stay on the paper? Ahh thank you so much Christine! But simply the readymade, washable stuff, nothing fancy! It stays permanently on the paper and it looks gorgeous. I may move mine to the hall! This is a great idea.

Definitely going to try this one. Thanks for sharing! If you add a little white vinegar to the water you will get brighter colors. I have no idea why. This is also a great way to decorate Easter eggs. They look like stained glass. Here is a way to make very simple, beautiful art work using just tissue paper and water!

I was totally inspired perhaps for the first time! We are adding this to our regular repertoire of fun things to do! We are big fans of bleeding tissue paper art here. We have even done it in the past and let rain create the art , which was great fun.

This beautiful bleeding tissue paper canvas art was created with confetti circles and is fun process art activity for kids of all ages. Plus you are left with a fab piece of art to display. You can buy specific art tissue paper for bleeding, but we have found that some cheap tissue paper works just as well, so just do a small test.

We had a packet of balloon confetti and discovered that it bled when we placed a cup on top of it. This post contains affiliate links. Thank you! My boys are going through a sorting stage, so they started by sorting the confetti into colours, however, this would love beautiful if you just added the tissue paper confetti in random order too. Before he removed the tissue paper once it was dry. It came away really simply as soon as it was dry. It turned out even better than we could have imagined. We love the rainbow effect and also just how vivid all the colours except the pale blue were when they transferred to the canvas.

I can see us doing this a lot more and experimenting with different patterns and shapes too. We used a really inexpensive canvas picked up from the Pound shop, but you could also use watercolour paper too.

Paint over them with water using the paintbrush. Let the tissue paper dry. Remove it. Your canvas now has a colorful background! The kids love this part! Have each child draw a picture using a black Sharpie onto some white art paper. This is my favorite art paper. This just means imagining their picture is in a bubble and to cut around it with space, and not on the actual lines of their picture. Glue the picture to the canvas.

Invite kids to glue all kinds of decorations to their canvas to turn it into a collage. They can use things like gemstones, buttons, pompoms, scraps of yarn or fabric, feathers etc. I placed individual containers of supplies onto each table using containers left over from our snowman playdough kits. And I also placed other materials on a nearby table that kids were welcome to get up and use as they needed.
